Five Ways To Be Happy. TODAY!
Does this sound familiar?
"I'll be happy when the kids are in school and
I have more time." "I'll be happy when I have more money" "I'll be happy
when I have my debts paid off" "I'll be happy when..."
I must confess
that I was guilty of saying these things too, almost every day. I was
trying to get my network marketing business going, raising two small
children, managing a house, and finding no time for myself. I was miserable
in all aspects of my life, because I was focusing too much on the
future!
Then one day, I heard a quote, and it really hit home. "Some
people are so busy making a living, that they forget to make a life."
I was so busy awaiting future happiness (when my business
got going, when my kids were in school full time, when my debts were
paid..) that I was missing the most important thing - being happy with
my life NOW!
There is nothing wrong with having dreams, and goals. But
when those dreams interfere with our daily lives, and create a
'tunnel Vision' we need to step back and take stock!
"The Secret of
Happiness is not found in seeking more but developing the capacity to enjoy
less."
Now, I count each day as a blessing, and I've
developed some methods To be happy today. Here are 5 ways you can be happy at
whatever Stage of your life you're at:
1) Each day (preferably
mornings), make a list of things you are grateful for in your life. (family,
friends, health, etc)
2) Review your goals, weekly, even daily. Don't be
afraid to revise them into more manageable ones.
3) Have a family
night, once a week. Rent a movie, order a pizza, go bowling, play a game. It
doesn't matter what you do, as long as you do it as a family.
4) Take
Five! Go for a walk, and notice your surroundings; spruce up your office
with a nice new plant, or get some colourful pictures to put up.
5)
Keep a journal. Record what it is about your life you love most. What stage
are your kids at? Walking? Talking? High School? What is it about this stage
that you like most?
You'll never get another chance at life. Make yours
count today!
